Bruce McArthur: suspected Canadian serial killer charged with eighth murder

Another update in the investigation into alleged serial killer Bruce McArthur on Monday morning may shed some light on the identity of an unidentified, deceased man believed to be another one of his victims.

It is likely that McArthur will face charges in relation to the man's death. They did not immediately release his name as next of kin were being notified.

On Friday, police announced that they had identified a John Doe who was believed to be another alleged victim of McArthur.

McArthur, Idsinga believes, killed Kanagaratnam between Sept 3, 2015 and December 14, 2015 - less than a month after another alleged victim, Soroush Mahmudi, was reported missing by his family.

Hank Idsinga, a detective sergeant with Toronto police, said on Monday the 66-year-old landscaper has been charged with first-degree murder over the death of Kirushna Kumar Kanagaratnam.

Idsinga said investigators are looking into 15 other cold cases dating back to 1975, but have not found a connection.

Most of the victims went missing from or had ties to the city's gay village.
