In the first phase on January 28, polio drops were administered to 19,68,183 children across the state.

In his speech, Dr. Khalo urged all the stakeholders, health workers, and volunteers to take ownership as it is everyone's responsibility to make this programme a success for the betterment of the society.

DIMAPUR: In Dimapur, 517 booths were set up to administer the polio drops. He also thanked the Evangelical Union (EU Kiphire) for assisting the department in covering 13 wards of Kiphire town.

In order to ensure that cent percent target is achieved, the District Development Commissioner directed the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to constitute mobile teams for conducting door-to-door surveys in the district.

The authorities established 22,768 centres for administering polio drops. Around 472 booths have been set up in different areas across the district for which 534 ASHA workers, 573 Anganwari workers, 759 Health workers, and 95 supervisors have been deployed on duty.

The programme was conducted under the supervision of CMO Dr. Kongyan, Dr. Imtiwapang Aier DIO (RCH/UIP), staff under CMO office, doctors and nurses from District Hospital, DPMU and NHM staff.

In Chennai, over 1,600 camps have been set up across the city to administer polio drops to children aged five. Around 1, 37,256 below five years-of-age children would be immunized during the campaign.

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Sunday launched the second phase of Intensified Pulse Polio Immunisation (IPPI) programme by administering polio drops to the children between 0-5 years of age at Thunag in Seraj Assembly constituency of Mandi district, here.

He said Health Minister Bali Bhagat kick-started the drive from the Government Hospital, Gandhi Nagar, here by administering polio drops to children this morning. The field staff will visit the houses to cover the left out children. In all, close to 750 transit points were identified for administering polio drops.
