Malcolm Butler to sign with Titans

Former New England Patriot and Vicksburg native Malcolm Butler intends to sign with the Tennessee Titans, according to multiple reports. NFL Media's Ian Rapoport says he will receive a 5-year, $61 million deal with more than $30 million guaranteed.

With Butler off the team, New England could be looking for his replacement this offseason in either free agency or the draft.

He figures to slide in at the top of the Titans depth chart alongside Adoree' Jackson and his former Patriots teammate Logan Ryan.

In his rookie season with the Patriots, the Vicksburg High School alum made National Football League history with an incredible game-ending interception in Super Bowl XLIX. He was a full-time starter for the final three seasons and notched eight interceptions with 43 pass breakups.

Butler's Patriots career ended on a unusual, disappointing note as Bill Belichick benched him for all defensive snaps in Super Bowl LII.

White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders told a briefing last week that Trump had won an arbitration proceeding against Clifford. Avenatti set a deadline of noon Tuesday for a response - but heard only crickets as the deadline passed.

Butler's durability was impressive in his time with the Patriots, as he played 98.8 percent of the defensive snaps in 2015, followed by 96.7 and 97.8 in the next two seasons.

Butler made headlines following the Patriots' loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LII.

While there is a lot of stability on the Patriots roster from 2017 to 2018, the few big names that could depart are impact players. Their depth chart at the position now consists of Gilmore, Eric Rowe, Cyrus Jones, Jonathan Jones and practice squadders Ryan Lewis and Jomal Wiltz.

The Patriots are scheduled to visit the Titans this season.
