Brabham reveals name and exhaust note of new sports auto

Backing up this approach, favoured by other vehicle maker's like McLaren, is recent reports that the Brabham brand made an approach to take over the Force India F1 team, although, following the launch of the Force India's 2018 auto, that now seems increasingly unlikely.

The company has confirmed that its new vehicle will be shown in May following a "rigorous and extensive engineering programme", which is now said to be reaching its completion.

The sound you can hear in the clip below is that of BT62's engine on idle during dynamic testing.

The engine will, says Brabham, continue the tradition of the first of its cars to win Formula 1, the BT7, or the BT19, the first vehicle bearing its driver's name to win a World Championship.

Bangladesh court grants bail to jailed opposition chief
The charges against her had already led to her boycotting polls in 2014, which triggered widespread protests at the time. The BNP has claimed that the cases are politically-motivated to keep its party chief out of the national elections.

The recently established Brabham Automotive, led by a Brabham family member and closely linked to the Brabham racing team, is set to unveil a new vehicle on May 2, 2018.

Although no details about the model have been released, the BT62 is expected to come in the form of a high-powered performance model because its name links it to a discontinued lineage of racing cars produced by the original Brabham brand.

Other cars to wear the "BT" prefix have included the BT7, which Jack Brabham drove to his first Formula 1 victory in 1963, as well as the BT19, which Jack Brabham made history in back in 1966 by becoming the first driver to win an F1 world title in a vehicle bearing his own name.

To the delight of enthusiasts, the fledgling auto maker created by late Australian racer Sir Jack Brabham's son, David, sounds like it could be packing a powerful V8. But the Force India team revealed its 2018 F1 challenger earlier this month, quelling any links to a takeover.
