Aaron Rodgers will be at Daytona to support Danica Patrick

Danica Patrick let slip some big news while speaking to reporters at media day for the Daytona 500 on Wednesday.

In a separate interview with FOX59 in Indianapolis, team boss Ed Carpenter confirmed Patrick's place on her team, while acknowledging his surprise at its revelation.

Patrick revealed earlier this week that she had a deal in place for the Indy 500, with an announcement set to follow her final NASCAR race this weekend, with sources indicating to Crash.net that a deal had been struck with Ed Carpenter Racing in the team's third auto.

Wednesday's slip of the tongue likely spoiled flashier announcement plans.

"He's going to be here to support me and he's excited", Patrick told The Associated Press this week.

"Don't get me wrong, it feels OK to be able to talk about it rather than have to spend more weeks playing dumb, not answering questions or just deflecting them".

"Matt and I are very like-minded to kind of go for things".

Patrick's longtime sponsor, GoDaddy, has signed on for the two races, America's best-known motorsports events.

One million Snapchat users sign petition against recent update
Snapchat founder Evan Spiegel wrote in a blog post that he believed blurring the two had contributed to the rise of fake news. 'This petition aims to help convince Snap Inc to change the app back to the basics, before the new 2018 update'.

Patrick last entered the Indy 500 back in 2011 for Andretti Autosport, finishing 10th before turning her attention to NASCAR from 2012 onwards.

Patrick ran seven seasons in IndyCar before leaving after the 2001 season to move to NASCAR.

No, not win a NASCAR race.

In any case, he's bullish about Patrick's chances for success at the 500, noting her extensive experience on oval tracks both in IndyCar and NASCAR. The team is in part owned by Tony George, the founder of IndyCar and chairman of the family group that owns Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Patrick will be in a third vehicle for ECR, joining Carpenter and Spencer Pigot.

Carpenter won Indy 500 poles in 2013 and 2014, and has finished as high as fifth.

Danica Patrick's Indianapolis 500 swansong already had the green light, but the identity of who she would be driving for remained a closely guarded secret.

"I'm excited", Carpenter told the station's Chris Hagan.
