Wahlberg donates $1.5 million in Williams' name

Hollywood's highest paid-actor Mark Wahlberg has responded to criticism that he was paid United States dollars 1.5million to reshoot "All the Money in the World" by donating the full sum to the Time's Up legal fund.

Scenes had to be reshot after Kevin Spacey was removed from the completed film following the allegations of predatory sexual behaviour against him.

The donations were announced after the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists said it is investigating why Williams was paid 1 percent of what her male co-star earned for reshoots on All the Money in the World. On Tuesday, USA Today reported that Wahlberg received $1.5 million while Williams made less than $1,000 for returning to re-film key scenes with Christopher Plummer in the kidnapping drama.

"Over the last few days my reshoot fee for All The Money in the World has become an important topic of conversation", said Wahlberg.

Churches attacked, Chile reviews security ahead of Pope's visit
President Michelle Bachelet a year ago asked for forgiveness from the Mapuche community for such "errors and horrors". Chile also has a handful of anarchist groups that periodically attack property and clash with police during protests.

Now, Williams has responded to the story and re-centered the conversation on decency, equality and activism, rather than (all the) money (in the world, sorry, this joke amuses me).

The Time's Up legal defence fund will offer support to people who have experienced sexual harassment, abuse or assault in the workplace.

"The current conversation is a reminder that those of us in a position of influence have a responsibility to challenge inequities, including the gender wage gap... My fellow actresses stood by me and stood up for me, my activist friends taught me to use my voice, and the most powerful men in charge, they listened and they acted", Williams said, according to Entertainment Tonight.

Time's Up was founded recently as a movement that works to prevent sexual harassment from taking place in different industries, spurred in large part by the #MeToo movement and the many allegations against now-disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein. "From movie sets to farm fields to boardrooms alike, we envision nationwide leadership that reflects the world in which we live", the website reads. The #TimesUp fund was set up past year to provide legal support to victims of sexual abuse and harassment.
