Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt kick start shoot for 'Gully Boy'

Actress Alia Bhatt and actor Ranveer Singh have started the shooting of their upcoming film Gully Boy. The entire team is super-excited for commencing the shoot and shared their joy with their fans through a social media post.

Co-star Ranveer retweeted Alia's post, while filmmaker Zoya Akhtar shared a picture from the sets of the movie with a caption that read, "Day 1 #herewego #gullyboy #slateit #makingmovies #anotherdayinparadise". "Gully Boy" is inspired by the lives of Mumbai street rappers Divine and Naezy. "He is a versatile actor and I have no doubts that he can effortlessly play an emperor in Padmavati and a rapper in this film". The movie is directed by Zoya Akhtar. Zoya has worked with Ranveer before in Dil Dhadakne Do, which was a box office hit with enormous critical acclaim. The "Padmaavat" actor has earlier worked with Alia for various commercials and events but this film based on the lives of street rappers will mark their first movie together. Ranveer has not had a release in long time since his film Padmaavat was stalled from it's original release date and might release on January 25. Alia Bhatt has a lot of promising projects line up to herself which includes Dharma Production's mega budget superhero three part film Brahmastra also starring Ranbir Kapoor and directed by Ayan Mukherjee.
