'Mukkabaaz' trailer: The Anurag Kashyap film packs quite the punch

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, known for projecting realism in his cinema, is looking forward to his new directorial venture Mukkabaaz, which addresses multiple "complex" issues of society - from poor infrastructure to reverse caste politics.

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap today said his upcoming movie "Mukkabaaz" comes from the "irony" and the "sad situation" that the country has more sports films than medals.

"We have more sports movies than medals".

Because it set in Uttar Pradesh, the dialect and diction that everyone and Shergill in particular seem to have mastered, make the scenes memorable. In population, we come after China but in medal tally, we always lag behind.

"There is a problem in our sports system". In the backdrop of this love story is casteism and someone's aspiration to become a super successful boxer. Through the film, I am showing the real condition of the sport of boxing and the social background of the players who are coming to play it.

How Analysts Rated Fidelity National Information Services, Inc
Norris Perne & French Llp increased Adobe Sys Inc Com (NASDAQ:ADBE) stake by 4,420 shares to 60,305 valued at $8.53M in 2017Q2. It worsened, as 42 investors sold FIS shares while 203 reduced holdings. 44 funds opened positions while 187 raised stakes.

"That is the question I want to ask - we celebrate cricket internationally, but not a sport like boxing. a boxing champion is never celebrated like a cricket champion, why", asked Kashyap.

But it is not just the administration, but also people, in general, who should be blamed for disrespecting the sportspersons, who bring pride to the country. We go insane. A small medal is celebrated so much that the person who won that doesn't even qualify the next time.

"We get a little something and burst into celebrations". The film comes from that irony. The main lead, Vineet Kumar, who's previously worked in Gangs of Wasseypur, Ugly and his short film "Murabba" from Bombay Talkies, is in the lead role and definitely steals the show. It's only in our country that the sportsmen travel in economy class and the people taking them fly business class. So, the casteism that you see in the film is as real as it looks.

The creative forces from different schools of filmmaking have collaborated for the first time for the highly-anticipated film, Mukkabaaz featuring Vinit Kumar, Zoya Hussain, Jimmy Shergill and Ravi Kishan that explores the journey of a boxer based in UP.
