Cyclone Ockhi: Rallies of Rahul Gandhi, Amit Shah cancelled in Gujarat

Cyclone Ockhi has already turned into a "deep depression" and may not hit the Gujarat coast near Surat as predicted earlier but the cyclonic storm has already cancelled many rallies scheduled for Wednesday in poll-bound Gujarat. However, he had to cancel his rallies in Morbi, Dhangadhra and Surendranagar.

Worth mentioning here that a helicopter carrying the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi could not land in Morbi because of bumpy weather. The BJP also called off rallies and press conferences of Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Surat.

Similarly, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari's road show in Bapunagar area of the city was also cancelled due to showers since early morning, Bapunagar MLA Jagroopsinh Rajput said. "The Prime Minister's rally in Limbayat assembly has been postponed in view of the cyclone Ockhi", a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader said.
