List drawn up of Tory MPs calling on Theresa May to quit

He picked up his camera briefly before putting it down and handing her the paper, which May took from him.

After her shambolic conference speech, the blame game over Theresa May's appearance at Tory conference yesterday has started.

But then came Theresa May's speech, an address bathed in pathos and interrupted as it was by a stage invader, several bouts of coughing which reduced her to near-muteness, and by part of the set behind her falling to pieces. Yet this incident helped the speech seem like "a metaphor for a premiership that is struggling and running out of things to say", as a Guardian report put it.

A source in May's Downing Street office told Sky News that "resignation is not an issue" for May, meaning that she is not considering leaving her post.

The leader's speech was beset by problems, the most notable being the interruption of a protest by the alternative comedian Lee Nelson, who handed the PM a fake P45.

Under the rules, 48 MPs would need to write to the party's backbench 1922 Committee expressing no confidence in Mrs May in order to trigger a leadership contest. People had wanted her to go by 2019 but now that could be much sooner.

A Scottish minister, Humza Yousaf said that people feeling sorry for a politician is the worst possible position for a politician, let alone a Prime Minister.

Raptors agree to four-year extension with Norman Powell
The Toronto Raptors have reportedly agreed to sign shooting guard Norman Powell to a four-year, $42 million contract extension. While the terms of Powell's extension are sound, the Raptors have put themselves deep into luxury-tax territory next season.

"But we do not think it spoils the underlying message and the strong point she made to the party that it is our job to get on delivering a strong Brexit".

The request was "signed" by Boris Johnson.

The mock document showed the forged signature of current Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson, who many in the Conservative Party would like to be the next leader.

Headlines in newspapers this morning labelled it a "farce" - and now Mrs May's team are being blamed for overloading her schedule in the days leading up to the speech, according to The Times.

It would not be quick or easy, said May, but she had made it her "mission" to solve the housing crisis, taking charge of the government's response, to "make the British dream a reality by reigniting home ownership in Britain once again".

The National's front page features a series of photographs of the prime minister delivering her speech through coughs and a man being taken away by police following the P45 stunt.
