Aussie Exum to undergo shoulder surgery

Utah Jazz point guard Dante Exum has elected to have surgery on his separated left shoulder, the team announced on Monday. He had reportedly been attempting to avoid surgery, but will now do so in an attempt to stabilize the AC joint on October 24.

The announcement noted the surgery will happen October 24 and "further updates will be provided when appropriate". He had explored possible rehabilitation options to avoid surgery, but eventually opted to go under the knife for a second major surgery in his young career.

Health problems have largely prevented the No. 5 overall pick in 2014 from living up to his potential with the Jazz.

Currently, 242.35 million total shares are owned by the public and among those 241.89 million shares have been available to trade. Pinebridge LP reported 7,474 shares. 195.01 million shares or 4.58% less from 204.36 million shares in 2017Q1 were reported.

He made his return last season, averaging 6.2 points and 1.7 assists in 66 games. He previously missed the entire 2015-16 season with a torn ACL suffered while playing for the Australian national team.

Exum suffered the injury during a preseason game against the Phoenix Suns back on October 6. This leaves Raul neto, Donovan Mitchell and Alec Burks competing for the backup point guard minutes behind Ricky Rubio. And like Exum, Mitchell also has the versatility to slide down to point guard if needed.
